Is this the greatest print ad ever?

We use the word simplicity all too often in the branding, design and advertising industry. But this is print ad is a perfect example of simplicity at the highest level.

Back in 2000, Leo Burnett agency came up with one of our favourite ads ever – John West Tuna, Nothing but Fish.

Not only does the tin become the water, but the single float represents the ‘line caught’ aspect of fishing which of course is the responsible way to fish.

The simplicity of this ad is stunning, so much so it won a Silver Cannes Lions in 2000.

Branding and advertising is all about the big idea. That one thing that will capture the attention.

Here is an amazing example of a Heinz spoof video that’s a little different.
